Emily Kate writes uplifting cozy fantasy.
She lives in a five-acre farmhouse in Walker, Louisiana, which means she spends an absurd amount of time racketing around on a big orange tractor (the dogs wisely stay on the porch, flocks of opinionated geese and sheep dart out of the way). When she’s not writing, she’s painting (Bombay Inks as her weapon of choice), or punching the clock as a chemist for a radiochemical lab. When she needs rest or relaxation, you can find her kayaking the local bayous and rivers for fresh inspiration.

Are you an Author?
I love to connect with other authors in or out of my genre. It is a Truth Universally Acknowledged: Writers must befriend other writers! No creative should ever have to create in a vacuum. And it’s important to take leaps and reach out to others. If you’d like to collaborate on a project or just discuss ideas, news, or find support, fill out the below Contact Form and I’ll be in touch!

What inspired you to become an author?
I decided to write all the stories I can never find. I love exciting stories with deep friendships and gentle romance… and a vivid appreciate for nature. Don’t forget that dash of magic and whimsy!
What genres do you write in?
Cozy Fantasy
How do you develop your characters?
My characters are deeply influenced by the colorful story telling of Georgette Heyer and L.M. Montgomery
What is your writing process like?
My writing process is me, my laptop, and a running negotiation: I show up with a plan, the story shows up with Other Plans, and we don’t stop arguing until it finally behaves.
Where can readers find your books?
My debut novel is underway!
Do you have any upcoming projects?
The Teacup Wars is a Cozy Fantasy set in the village of Hazelton!
